It is almost impossible in our setting for a 26-year old to pin their next step in life on patience and faith in God,but it yields great results and there is evidence to back this.
Addressed Mercy Twum-Ampofo in her private life,Ohemaa Mercy- as she is known in the Gospel industry- visited the studios of Peace Fm on the 16th of December, 2018. Her visit was to serve a twofold: publicise her upcoming album labelled “MY SET TIME” and to advise the populace on their walk with God.While the album title seemingly bears her message in full,her remarks on the show while treating the audience to some of her soothing music are intriguing.
“I was first exposed to the Gospel industry in 2003; at the time,faith was all I held on to since I had no idea about the height God had set for me,” she recounted in an inarguably self-actualizing tone.
Now aged 41, her message is clear-cut: God has a set time for everyone, the reason patience is required.”So what does that mean to the kid who is battling with a year or two of challenges or the talented lady seen as a local champion by her peers? “Many minds may be quizzing at this point.
The famed Gospel musician admonishes us to be unwavering in our faith in God and in His time, our situations will turn a corner. While people may be quick to attribute her unquestionably successful career to hardwork, she believes her 15 years of experience in the industry thus far is founded on waiting on God.
The issue of patience and faith alike cannot be over-emphasized. Throughout scriptures,the story of Noah and the ark,the conception story of Rachel among others lends verisimilitude to this claim. Anyway you slice it, Ohemaa Mercy’s story mirrors a clear signal:hold on to God in all your ways, running the race of life, knowing there is a reward awaiting and irrespective of the hiccups suffered, like a great archer, know that in God’s time you will hit the bull’s eye.
